Here’s a collection of ceramic work which is somehow… in some way… pieced together. It can take nearly any form, be composed solely of interlocking tiles, or involve other media at will. The result takes a range of stances from freestanding to wall-mounted. The point is always to show off clay’s place in the whole. Assemblages tend to include a variety of found objects and can depend somewhat on the serendipity of shapes, textures and colors finding each other as well. Mosaics tend to have a more cohesive materiality wherein clay takes center stage. The two approaches resonate and play off of each other and are great fun to create.
